The U.S. Women's Soccer National Team beat France 2-0 on April 13 in a friendly match against France behind goals by veterans Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan, The Olympic Channel noted.
The duo won Olympic gold at London in 2012. (At the 2016 Olympics, the U.S. team lost to Sweden in the quarterfinals.)
Rapinoe's early goal came from a penalty in the fifth minute, while Morgan scored after 13 minutes, assisted by Christen Press.
The USA team's win came after the squad failed to win for the first time since late 2019 when it played Sweden on April 10. That match ended in a 1-1 tie. |
