The Chicago Red Stars, behind an early Kealia Watt goal and a clean sheet from Cassie Miller, defeated the Orlando Pride at home (Bridgeview's SeatGeek Stadium) Oct. 13 by a score of 1-0.
During the game's sixth minute, Watt fired a volley after a corner kick that found the back of the net for an early Red Stars leadone the team kept.
The Red Stars surrendered a penalty kick to Orlando; however, Alex Morgan pushed the shot wide left.
Tierna Davidson was named Player of the Match, and she was crucial to the Red Stars' efforts to maintain a clean sheet (i.e., giving up zero goals). Davidson led the team in clearances with 13 while also contributing a tackle, interception and block.
The Red Stars play their final regular season game at home Saturday, Oct. 16, as Chicago takes on Kansas City for Fan Appreciation Night at 7 p.m.
