Zach LaVine scorched the nets to lead Chicago with 39 points, and Coby White added 23. Devonte' Graham hit five 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 30 points for New Orleans, while CJ McCollum scored 25, according to ESPN.
One of the big differences involved free throws: The Bulls were 15 of 19 while the Pelicans were 32 of 34. Also, Chicago played without leading scorer DeMar DeRozan (left groin) in losing for the fifth time in six games.
The Bulls next play at the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, March 26.
In NHL action on March 24, Collin Delia made 43 saves and stopped all three of Los Angeles' attempts in the shootout to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 victory over the Kings, ESPN noted.
Alex DeBrincat had a goal and an assist in regulation and then had the only score in the shootout for the Blackhawks, who have won two straight for the first time since getting four consecutive victories in the middle of January.
Patrick Kane also had a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks. Sam Lafferty also scored.
The Blackhawks will conclude their three-game road trip against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, March 26.
