The Bulls (18-10) got 19 points each from Nikola Vucevic and Lonzo Ball, and 17 points from Alex Caruso.
DeRozan was playing in his first game since Dec. 4, and the Bulls were playing for the first time in more than a week after having two games postponed amid a team COVID-19 outbreak, ESPN.com noted. Although DeRozan was one of the 10 Bulls players who landed in the league's protocols, he did not experience any symptoms from the virus.
The high-scoring Zach LaVine, along with four other Bulls, are currently regarding COVID-related health and safety protocols.
Future Hall of Famer LeBron James led the Lakers with 31 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks.
On Monday, Dec. 20, the Bulls will face the Houston Rockets at the United Center.
