The Chicago Bears (4-9) outscored the Green Bay Packers (10-3) 24-21 during an entertaining and exciting second quarter on Dec. 12 at Lambeau Field to take a 27-21 halftime lead.
However, the Packers came back at home behind quarterback Aaron Rodgerswho, earlier this season, said he "owned the Bears"and beat Chicago 45-30.
Rodgers (who has generated off the field about his COVID vaccination stance and status) completed 29 of 37 passes for 341 yards with four touchdowns and a 141.1 passer rating. His 341 yards were his most in 28 career starts against the Bears. Rodgers improved to 23-5 all-time against Chicago.
Bears quarterback Justin Fields completed 18 of 33 passes for 224 yards with two TDs, two interceptions and a 70.8 passer rating; he also rushed for a game-high 74 yards on nine carries.
The Bears have now lost seven of eight games since opening the season 3-2. They have now dropped six straight to the Packers, 11 of 12 and 21 of 24.
Rumors have been swirling about head coach Matt Nagy being fired very soon. This lossespecially to the Bears' biggest rivalmay be the final nail in the coffin.
