openly gay
quarterback
Dutton Publishing has released Out of the Pocket by Bill Konigsberg, an award-winning national sports writer. Konisgsberg's debut novel tells the fictional coming-out story of Bobby Framingham, a 17-year-old star quarterback living in Orange County, Calif.
'I wanted to write a book that realistically delved into where we are now in terms of gays in sports,' said Konigsberg. Konigsberg is an award-winning sports journalist who currently writes for The Associated Press. He has covered the New York Yankees and Mets, and his weekly fantasy baseball column has appeared in newspapers across the country.
