Four Chicago restaurants were named first-time recipients of Michelin stars, according to The Chicago Tribune.
Those spots are the French-inflected Claudia (with items like squid-ink madeleines), artsy restaurant Esme, the Filipino venue Kasama and the Middle Eastern-themed Galit. Fine-dining spot Alinea remains Chicago's only three-starred restaurant, which Michelin defines as "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey."
Ever, Moody Tongue, Oriole and Smyth all maintained two-star ratings in the 2022 guide. Chicago restaurants keeping one-star ratings included Boka, EL Ideas, Elizabeth, Elske, Goosefoot, Mako, Next, North Pond, Omakase Yume, Porto, Schwa, Sepia, Temporis and Topolobampo.
The Study at Heritage, 2700 W. Chicago Ave., is running "The Study of Spring: A Journey Through Spain and Portugal" April 21-17.
