The full list of nominations for the 21st annual SAG Awards was announced Dec. 10 at Los Angeles' Pacific Design Center.
Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for portraying the late gay codebreaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game. He'll compete again Steve Carell ( Foxcatcher ), Jake Gyllenhaal ( Nightcrawler ), Michael Keaton ( Birdman ) and Eddie Redmayne ( who portrays Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything ).
Nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role are Jennifer Aniston ( Cake ), Felicity Jones ( The Theory of Everything ), Julianne Moore ( Still Alice ), Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl ) and Reese Witherspoon ( Wild ).
Keira Knightley received a nod for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Among her competition is Meryl Streep, for her performance as The Witch in Into the Woods. Also, The Imitation Game was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
In the area of television, Cumberbatch was nominated as wellfor his role as Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock: His Last Vow. Larry Kramer's AIDS drama The Normal Heart received some SAG love, as Mark Ruffalo ( who also got a movie nod for his role in Foxcatcher ) and Julia Roberts were nominated.
Nods for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series went to Claire Danes ( Homeland ), Viola Davis ( How to Get Away with Murder ), Julianna Margules ( The Good Wife ), Tatiana Maslany ( Orphan Black ), Maggie Smith ( Downton Abbey ) and Robin Wright ( House of Cards ).
A couple Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series nods were LGBT-related, as out actor Jim Parsons ( The Big Bang Theory ) and Eric Stonestreet ( half of the gay couple on Modern Family ) were nominated.
Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba ( who portrays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren ) was among the nominees named for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
Awards will be handed out Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in a ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS.
