'RuPaul's Drag Race' winner crowned

The champion of season nine of the VH1 show RuPaul's Drag Race has been crowned.
Sasha Velour sashayed away with the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar" and a cash prize of $100,000, beating 13 of the nation's top queens, including Miss Congeniality winner Valentina.
Chicagoan Shea Coulee was also a finalist for the title.
Season eight winner Bob the Drag Queen was on hand to crown her successor in front of a packed house at Los Angeles' Alex Theatre.
RuPaul will be back on Logo with RuPaul's Drag Race: Season 9 RuVealed, premiering Thursday, June 29, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. |
