In Demand Entertainment present the 30th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Viewing Party and 5th annual Memories of a Mini-Ball Saturday, May 30, 2015, 5 p.m.-12 a.m. at Grub Chicago, 1230 W. Taylor, with head Chef Emanuel Washington.
Organizers are inviting LGBTQIAGNC ( lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, allies, and gender non-conforming ) youth and adults for this house and ballroom scene event and queer freedom outreach opportunity. Male, female, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals from a diversity of backgrounds are expected.
This event will include food, music, outreach, Memoriam for Musical Giants, and personal tributes to lost loved ones who passed due to complications of HIV/AIDS. There will be a performing and visual arts componentalso referred to as a "mini-ball"which includes presentations, performances, talent competitions, fashion shows, drag shows, drop-in safe space outreach initiatives for leadership and ballroom category development, and more. "We continue to bridge gaps to break the barriers of a segregated society," said organizer Solomon ( Infiniti ) Arnold.
Event program and performers: dinner Reservations 5-9 p.m.; Hall of Fame screening 7-9 p.m.; Memoriam Tribute 9-10 p.m.; Variety Show 10-11 p.m.; Mini-Ball 11p.m.-12 a.m.
Soloists: Michaiah Janae and Jason DaVell. Poet: Mike Booker. Performing Arts Group: Conclusionary Practices. Live Jazz Band: The Danny Jamison Quartet. Comedian/Host: Official Madame of House Music Mother Diva. Musicologist: DJ Nico Infiniti. Music Historian and Radio Personality: DJ King George. Photographer/Videographer: Todd Diederich.
This event is also an opportunity for businesses, media companies, social service and healthcare agencies interested in doing outreach on a wide range of issues, including HIV/AIDS, general healthcare, LGBTQIGNC issues, and more.
