The 21-year-old nephew of gay performer Ricky Martin has withdrawn claims that he was in a sexual relationship with the "She Bangs" singer, according to multiple reports. A domestic violence restraining order issued against Martin earlier in July was similarly withdrawn.
Martin's attorneys issued a statement July 21 that said the legal matters were withdrawn in a Puerto Rico court at the volition of the accuser.
Initial reports said that Martin had been in a seven-month relationship with an unknown individual and had been harassing them once the relationship had broken up. Martin denied the allegations. In mid-July, Martin's half-brother Eric Martin revealed that Ricky and Eric's nephew, Daniel Yadiel Sanchez, was behind the allegations. Eric said that Sanchez had long struggled with mental illness, Page Six reported.
"Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court," said the attorneys' July 21 statement, which Ricky published on his Twitter feed. " The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter. … This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can move forward with his life and his career."
Ricky headlined the post with: "Truth prevails."
The father of four, Ricky came out publicly in 2010. He has been married to artist Jwan Yosef since 2017.
