Planned Parenthood endorses reproductive health champions for election

CHICAGO—The Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Illinois Action ( PPIA ), the non-partisan political and advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood of Illinois, announces its endorsements for the November 3 general election. Candidates were selected based on their reproductive health care policies and their commitment to protecting the health and rights of Illinoisans. In addition, Planned Parenthood Action Fund ( PPAF ) announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin along with members of the U.S. House of Representatives. "This is the most consequential election of our lifetime for reproductive health and human rights," said PPIA Board Chair Matea Varvodic. "We are supporting these candidates not only because they are advocates for Planned Parenthood, but because they also work tirelessly to amplify the voices of women, men, transgender, and nonbinary folks across race, class and generations. We are at a crossroads in our democracy and it is imperative that we choose the right direction for the Illinois General Assembly, Congress, and the White House."
