The Chicago Red Stars have announced that the team will be hosting an open tryout for prospective players the weekend of March 31st / April 1st. Head Coach Rory Dames and additional coaching staff will be on hand for player evaluations. Players will be able to showcase their skills and potentially earn an invite to the Red Stars preseason training camp in April/May, and ultimately a roster spot for the inaugural year of WPSL Elite.
The Chicago Red Stars are committed to providing an opportunity for all qualified players to get a shot at playing in the top leagues and ultimately get seen by the national teams. The Red Stars plan to field up to two full rosters of players to compete in WPSL Elite and other tournaments/cups this summer.
All players interested in attending will be required to fill out a registration form and waiver. Registration is $75 and is payable via credit card at http://redstarsgear.com/tryouts2012.
Saturday's tryout will run from approximately 1pm — 4pm, with an additional session for some participants to take place Sunday from 10am — 12pm. Final times and location will be confirmed shortly.
The tryout is open to all female players over the age of 18. College players will not have their NCAA eligibility affected by their participation in these tryouts or by addition to the Red Stars roster.
