Jaedyn Shaw scored for the Wave.

Vanessa DiBernardo took home Star of the Match, per a press release. She ended the night in the top five of Red Stars players with the most passes (40) and passes in the final third (11).

Next, the Red Stars will take on NJNY Gotham FC on Sunday, Aug. 7, at 5 p.m. CT at SeatGeek Stadium.

—The Chicago Fire FC (7-10-6) settled for a 0-0 draw against the Atlanta United FC (6-9-7) at Soldier Field on July 30, extending their unbeaten streak to four consecutive matches.

With the result, the Fire have now kept 11 clean sheets in their last 15 regular season home matches, equaling the most shutouts at home in a 15-match span in MLS history.

Chicago will travel to face first-year MLS side Charlotte FC on Saturday, Aug. 6. Beginning at 6 p.m. CT, the match will be televised on WGN-TV and CF97 Live, and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.

—The Chicago Cubs (41-59) came up short against the host San Francisco Giants (50-51) on July 30, falling 5-4.

Luis Gonzalez and Joey Bart homered on consecutive pitches in the fourth inning and the San Francisco Giants withstood a late Cubs rally, ESPN noted.

The teams conclude their series Sunday, July 31.

—In Chicago, the White Sox (50-50) beat the Oakland A's (39-64) 3-2 in the second half of a doubleheader on July 30. (Oakland won the first game 5-4.)

Gavin Sheets hit a tying, two-run homer in the seventh inning and scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the ninth, per ESPN.

Chicago, the preseason favorite to win the AL Central, is three games behind first-place Minnesota and a game behind second-place Cleveland.

The teams finish their series Sunday, July 31.
