San Francisco's Matt Alber and Broadway's newest singer/songwriter Celisse Henderson begin a six-city tour through the Heartland this week with queer thanksgiving in their hearts. The two will be flying from their respective coasts and meeting in Chicago to kick things off—their first concert is Friday, Nov. 14 at Schubas Tavern at Southport and Belmont.

"It's kind of incredible that gay marriage and civil rights are springing up like pumpkins in the midwest—it's almost like they knew we were coming!" said Alber, who grew up in St. Louis, Mo.—the second stop on the whirlwind tour with his close friend and compatriot.

The queer dynamic vocal duo graced the stage of Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series earlier this year with a sold-out performance at the beautiful Kaplan Penthouse. See youtu.be/vdZvsvbM_7s .

"It's not often you get to see a queer African-American woman and a white boy from Missouri singing about love in perfect harmony," said Alber. "I hope folks decide to turn off Netflix for a night and come out to one of the shows."

For tickets and more information on the tour, visit: www.mattalber.com and www.celissehenderson.com or at www.lh-st.com/Shows/11-14-2014+Matt+Alber .
