Two of the three authors of the new book Queer (In)Justice: The Criminalization of LGBT People in the United States, were at a jam-packed book launch Feb. 25 at DePaul's downtown campus. Joey L. Mogul and Andrea J. Ritchie discussed the book and took questions from the audience, which included two men who were survivors of torture under recently convicted Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge: Darrell Cannon and Anthony Holmes. Also in the audience was Chicagoan Monica James, whose case of transgender bias is discussed in the book, which looks at America's justice and criminal legal systems "through the lens of the queer experience."
