Chicago, IL, April 2023 — Q Christian Fellowship presents the 2023 Parent & Family Summit at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, May 5 through 7 . At a time when political climates are increasingly hostile towards LGBTQ people, and especially trans identities, this event will provide critical teachings and build community as a form of advocacy. This event is a proclamation that LGBTQ people are beloved and aims to equip their parents and loved ones to live out that reality.

The headlining speaker this year is Candice Czubernat, who is a licensed therapist and the founder of The Christian Closet. Attendees will also hear from: Pastor Danny Cortez, Grace Thomas, Rev. Tasha Mitchell, and Rev. Nancy J. Benson-Nicol, our "Summit Pastor'' from Fourth Presbyterian Church. Additionally, there will be two panels: a Parent Panel, composed of parents of LGBTQ people, and a panel of LGBTQ people. Tickets are $150.

Parents and family members of LGBTQ people will gather to discover the transformative power of loving their LGBTQ children the way that God loves all of us. Attendees will learn from speakers' successes and even more from their failures. Attendees will laugh, cry, and grow as the stories of other families are shared in a safe, compassionate space. Attendees will leave with tools for healthy communication, a support system of friends who "get" this journey and commit to walking alongside one another even beyond the event.

Q Christian Fellowship is an organization that cultivates radical belonging among LGBTQ people and allies through a commitment to growth, community, and relational justice. You can learn more about QCF at www.qchristian.org .
