About Face Theatre will continue its season with Wonka Ball 2007, the latest incarnation of the organization's annual benefit. The gala will be held May 17 at Germania Place, 108 W. Germania ( just south of the intersection of Clark and North ) , at 6:30-10 p.m.
This year's gala will take attendees inside the sultry world of '50s pulp fiction as the event ties in to the company's upcoming production of the hit show Pulp, which celebrates the world of '50s lesbian pulp fiction.
In addition, the theatre's Seventh annual Leppen Leadership Awards will be given out during a special VIP pre-event reception. This year's recipients are Sidetrack managing partner Chuck Hyde and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations' Advisory Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues.
Patrons may purchase a $175 general admission or a $250 VIP ticket. The latter entitles the purchaser to everything from the reception to a VIP gift bag.
