Prime minister of Andorra comes out as gay

Xavier Espot Zamora, the head of the government of the tiny European country of Andorra, has come out as gay—although he added that he never hid his sexual orientation, according to a translated article from The Objective as well as several other media reports.
During an interview on the country's public radio broadcast, Espot said, "I am gay and I have never hidden." Espot Zamora added that he had never spoken about his sexual orientation not because he had not been asked, but that "it should not pose any inconvenience," according to the Nacio Digital newspaper.
Espot Zamora also said that he felt he's never experienced discrimination because of his sexuality—but that he can't deny experiences others have had.
Andorra approved marriage equality in July 2022; the law took effect in February 2023. After the parliament voted to open civil marriage to same-sex couples, the law was decreed by one of the co-princes of Andorra, French President Emmanuel Macron, in August 2022. (Since 2003, the other co-prince has been the Catholic Bishop of Urgell from Spain, Joan-Enric Vives i Sicilia.)
