Former pro baseball player Billy Bean will be the grand marshall for Chicago's 34th Annual Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade Sunday,
June 29, kickoff at noon from Belmont and Halsted.
Bean's new book is Going the Other Way—Lessons From A life In and Out of Major League Baseball. Written with Chris Bull, his
book is now in stores.
Call (773) 348-8243 for info or to register a contingent; PrideChgo@aol.com .
The deadline is June 18—or until all 250 spots are filled.
Under an updated City of Chicago parade ordinance, all city parades must cut-off registrations at least one week before parade
dates in order to compile both a numbered line-up and a site plan, placing each entry in an assigned position.
That plan along with more marshals and monitors has helped to shorten the time of many of Chicago's parades.
