On July 22, the Chicago Sky (21-6)—who clinched a playoff spot earlier this week—scored an 89-83 victory over the Dallas Wings (11-15) at Wintrust Arena.

It was the second meeting in less than a week between the teams. This time, the Sky escaped in its first game without starting point guard Courtney Vandersloot, who was following concussion protocols.

All five Sky starters scored in double figures, led by Kahleah Copper's 19 points.

Next, Chicago will play the New York Liberty for the third time this season away on Saturday, July 23. The tipoff at Barclays Center is at 6 p.m. CT and will be air on NBA TV, YES App, CW 26 and SN.

—Nelson Velazquez hit two late homers—including a ninth-inning drive off Phillies backup catcher Garrett Stubbs—and drove in five runs, while Seiya Suzuki and Willson Contreras also went deep as the visiting Chicago Cubs (36-57) routed Philadelphia (49-44) 15-2, ESPN reported.

Ian Happ and Suzuki each had four hits and Christopher Morel added three hits for the Cubs, who won their second in a row after losing nine straight.

(However, that wasn't even the most impressive win of the day, as the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Boston Red Sox—in Boston—28-5.)

Former Cub Kyle Schwarber increased his National League-leading home run total to 30 with a solo drive in the first inning for the Phillies.

The teams will clash again on Saturday, July 23.

—The Cleveland Guardians' Andres Gimenez homered, Josh Naylor drove in three runs and Cleveland beat the Chicago White Sox (46-47) 8-2 on July 22 at Guaranteed Rate Field, per ESPN.

The Guardians (47-44) cruised to their fourth straight win, pounding White Sox starter Lucas Giolito in the opener of a four-game series between two of the top three teams in the tight AL Central.

The teams are slated to play a doubleheader on Saturday, July 23.
