Tania Nichole Dunbar, one of the founding members of SPARTA, died over the weekend at a North Carolina beach campground, according to the Advocate and other sources. The death came from an accidental fall in which she hit her head, according to the reports.
Dunbar recently completed a deployment in Kuwait and had come back for duty at Fort Bragg, N.C. She was married with two children.
SPARTA is an organization of current and former LGBT military members.
