Adrian Robert Ford, of Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, died unexpectedly Nov. 17. He was 74
Born in Rochester, New York, on May 11, 1946 to Clarence and Ruth Ford, Adrian grew up in Webster, New York, and later moved with parents to Bristol, New York. He attended Bloomfield schools and went on to Butler University, in Indiana.
After graduation he moved to Chicago, where he lived for more than 50 years, where he worked for the state in the benefits department until his retirement in 2006. Adrian wrote poetry and ultimately published a book of poems called More Sleep."
Adrian loved France and was finally able to make a visit where he saw all the sights he had so long read about. He also loved movies and had a collection tapes. Animals of all kinds were another love whether cat, rooster, or cow. He gave generously to organizations that protected all animals and lived on a strict non-meat diet.
Adrian leaves a sister, Melinda Mason; nephew Peter Mason; niece Katie Mason Fink; and scores of friends in Chicago. A celebration of life will be held at a later time in Bristol, New York.
