After reviewing Carlos in several videos for my column, I had been e-mailing him for a chance to meet and first caught up with him at the booth for Rentboy.com during IML. His hands were tied, so to speak, so we met at Starbucks the following Friday.
This Venezuelan born dancer was surprisingly affectionate, genuine and down to earth. I was curious how he's kept it fresh for the past ten years in the industry.
Pubert: So start me out. When did you come to America?
Carlos: In 1992, I moved to New York and wanted to be a stripper. I had big legs from dancing in Venezuela but quickly started working out to please the American gay audience.
P: Well, it is working!
C: I wanted to be in movies because they pay well and I was a fan of Kristen Bjorn.
P: Me too. I love his work!
C: Well, it was a terrible experience. I did the movie World of Men and they just treated me badly. Afterwards I didn't work for a while. I went back to stripping, modeling for Honcho and other magazines.
P: So how did you get back into movies?
C: Falcon kind of brought me back. It was a great experience, less work and more money. Then I continued on with Chi-Chi Larue and The Missing Link. This was intense. They had a glass dildo with a camera that went inside me. You have to see this movie.
P: Is it at Specialty Video on the corner here?!? So you bottom and top?
C: I get offers to do both, but after that the fisting offers started coming in.
P: You gotta roll with the punches! So how did you get involved with Raging Stallion?
C: They signed me exclusively, which means I just work for them. They are a great company. They are trying to make the production more upscale.
P: I saw you in Passport to Paradise and I was worried the cock ring was too tight. Your penis was purple!
C: It broke twice ( we laugh ) !
P: So where do you see yourself in the future?
C: I want to keep working on my website, D.J-ing and making movies. I don't want to get overexposed.
P: With you, Carlos, for me, that ain't possible.
