Eight-time Grammy nominated saxophonist, Dave Koz, will be performing with special guests Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright and Richard Elliot in Country Club Hills, IL at the Country Club Hills Theatre on July 27th in support of his new
The CD has just debuted at #1 on the Billboard Current Contemporary Jazz Album Chart and the Lennon/McCartney penned single, "Got To Get You Into My Life" is #1 on Mediabase Smooth A/C Chart after only five weeks at radio. The CD holds the #1 position for the 2nd week in a row and Dave was a guest on the Tavis Smiley Show last Friday night.
The late 70s were a golden era for the horn and now, 30+ years later, Summer Horns comes out just as we're once again hearing a slew of chart-topping songs with prominent saxophones - Macklemore/Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop," Passion Pit''s "Take A Walk," Capital Cities' "Safe and Sound," Train's "50 Ways To Say Goodbye," are just a few examples.
Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns features special guest saxophonists Gerald Albright, Richard Elliot and Mindi Abair performing all new arrangements of classic summer hits originally recorded by Sly and the Family Stone, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Tower of Power and more, with guest vocals performed by Michael McDonald, Jeffrey Osborne and Jonathan Butler.
