Out Loud Illinois, a grassroots group of Illinois GLBTs committed to electing John Kerry and John Edwards, are building a movement against Bush and for John Kerry and John Edwards. Out Loud Illinois seeks donations of $25 or more from 5,000 people in the Illinois GLBT community.
In addition to the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitutional amendment, Bush has many other fronts in his war against GLBT rights, organizers stated:
— Bush actively opposed laws which would prohibit firing employees due to their sexual orientation.
— Bush cut off funds for HIV groups that advocate safe-sex practices.
— Bush continues to appoint young, right-wingers to the federal bench.
