U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) is slated to be at the Illinois Democratic County Chairs' Association brunch at Springfield's Crowne Plaza Hotel (with opportunities to participate virtually) on Aug. 18, according to Politico Illinois Playbook.
Ossoff is in the Senate alongside fellow Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock, who defeated incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler in the 2020 Senate special election runoff, both on Jan. 5, 2021. Ossoff defeated then-incumbent Republican senator David Perdue on the same date, and both races garnered national attention.
The victories allowed Democrats to pull even with Republicans in the U.S. Senate.
Past brunch headliners have included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and then-Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
RSVP to the brunch at secure.actblue.com/donate/idccabrunch2021.
