Oscars 2005: Hilary, Clint and Morgan Take It All

The 77th Annual Academy Awards were held Sunday night in Hollywood, and the big news was really not much news with host Chris Rock. He may have insulted a few actors like Jude Law and Collin Farrell ( and even himself ) , but he didn't push too many buttons. A bit of political humor upfront, but nothing much throughout the show.

Hilary Swank stole the statue from her fellow nominee Annette Bening again, taking the Best Actress award for her role in the controversial film Million Dollar Baby. Clint Eastwood took Best Director and the film itself also won for Best Picture. Martin Scorcese and The Aviator crew may have been forgiven if they thought they would take off with the top awards, with early successes that evening for Best Supporting Actress, among others.

No suprises for Best Actor, with Ray's Jamie Foxx winning the Oscar.
