Open TV—the platform that helped launch the careers of Brown Girls, Fatimah Asghar and Sam Bailey and the Brown Girls series—is releasing its fifth cycle digitally Tuesday, April 7, 7-9 p.m.

Normally, there is a screening at the Museum of Contemporary. However, because of COVID-19-related concerns, the event will be online.

Pilots and shorts will include Conspiracy Theorist ( with Rebba Moore as writer and creator ); Femme Queen Chronicles ( a story of four Black trans women in Detroit ); and Elijah McKinnon's #BraveFutures: "The Time Is Now x Most Brave Film Awardees" ( Johannesburg and Berlin )—a competition that challenges creatives, storytellers and filmmakers of all levels to create an entire short film in 48 hours using one intersectional theme, one prop and one action in metropolitan cities.

Interviews with show creators, comedic skits, performances and more will be live-streamed as well.
