Chicago, IL — Center on Halsted welcomes donors, patrons and supporters to the annual On the Red Carpet benefit to enjoy the 2014 86th Academy Awards telecast in a fun and festive atmosphere at Park West on March 2nd. In 2013, On the Red Carpet was attended by 400 participants and raised more than $60,000 to support our many programs and services at Center on Halsted.
"I'm excited to be returning to Park West this year for this always-lively event," commented Modesto "Tico" Valle, Center on Halsted CEO, "and even more excited to be joined by our community sponsors, without whom Center on Halsted would not be able to continue offering its essential services to the LGBTQ Chicagoland area."
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a red carpet arrival, courtesy of Mini of Chicago, with the awards screening beginning at 7:00 p.m. Follow the event on social media using #CenterOTRC leading up to and during the event.
Tickets range from $40 to $125, with each ticket including cocktail service, reserved seating, buffet dinner, silent auction, raffle drawing, and a chance to win a Predict-the-Winner contest. Silent auction items include extravagant vacation packages, bar and restaurant certificates, theater and sports tickets, gym memberships and much, much more!
Participants can win a cash prize by purchasing and completing a ballot for the Predict-the-Winner contest. Ballots will be available for $10 at registration and to the general public by emailingderikstrup@centeronhalsted.org . The person with the most correct Oscar picks will split the winnings with Center on Halsted.
On the Red Carpet is Co-Chaired by Peter Johnson and Ian Gray. This year's event is sponsored by Redbox, Mini of Chicago, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Consumer Link, Brett Taylor, Skinny Pop Popcorn, StemLine Creative, ChicagoPride.com, Grab Magazine, and MillerCoors.
