I wanted to start this column with 'my dog ate my homework.' I don't have my own dog, but that leaves me open for dog-sitting duties. And while my sister's dog is elderly and elegant, Jorjet Harper's is a bundle of energy like Courtney Love on extra stimulents. As I write this she alternates between jumping on my lap and typing (Jorjet, does she know your e-mail address?) and dropping her tennis ball at my feet (note to dog: golf is the new lesbian-feminist sport). But she's shorter even than me, so I can type around her furry little head.
We also had an early deadline due to the Memorial Day/Bear/International Mr. Leather Holiday Weekend (as it is now officially known), so look for weekend pics next week—and in this week's Windy City Times.
Bud Light's Windy City Gay Idol is headed into the home stretch. I feel so emotionally connected to some of the winners and 'not-winners,' that it's going to be quite a roller coaster June 14 at Circuit. For details and pics see WindyCityMediaGroup.com . We have 16 finalists (T.T. phone home!), lots of video clips, and a ton of prizes to hand out that night. Just a $5 cover and much better singers than on that other Idol show.
