The second Annual LGBTQ Health & Wellness Conference will take place Nov. 19-20. The interdisciplinary event is intended to foster the application of research into practice by providing a forum for presenting LGBTQ health research, to provide networking opportunities and share resources. The conference is co-organized by the IMPACT Program at Northwestern University and the Sexual Orientation and Gender Institute at Center on Halsted, and is co-sponsored by several Chicago-area universities and health centers.
A welcome reception will be held Nov. 19 from 6 p.m. — 8 p.m. at Center on Halsted, located at 3656 N. Halsted St., Chicago, Ill. The conference will be take place Nov. 20th from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Feinberg Pavilion Conference Center, located at 251 E. Huron St., Chicago, Ill.
The conference includes a welcome breakfast and keynote address by Dr. Lawrence A. Tabak, Principal Deputy Director of NIH. The keynote will be followed by a listening session to help NIH determine the highest priority research areas in LGBTQ health. There will be a networking lunch, research presentation sessions, a plenary session led by Dr. Walter Bockting, a poster session, and a reception and researcher awards.
Registration for Nov. 19 includes the reception, including refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. Registration for Nov. 20 includes admission to all events, including breakfast, lunch and the reception.
