Grammy nods
Several LGBTA individuals received nominations for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, according to GLAAD.org .
Frank Ocean, who revealed earlier this year that his first lover was a man, tied other acts such as Kanye West, fun. and Jay-Z for the most nods with six.
The band fun.who appeared at the GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco and have since founded pro-LGBT Ally Coalitionreceived nods for Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, among others.
Tegan & Sara's "Get Along" was nominated for Best Long Form Music Video. Joan Osborne received a nod in Best Blues Album for Bring It On Home, and Sia picked up a nomination for the single "Wild Ones" in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
Saxophonist Dave Koz (who played at the Chicago Theatre Dec. 8) picked up a nomination in Best Pop Instrumental Album.
Rachel Maddow and Ellen DeGeneres scored nominations in Best Spoken Word Album for Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power and Seriously … I'm Kidding, respectively.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 10, 2013, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
