When newly out teen Olivia loses her family, her home, and her future in one fell swoop, she's taken in by a resilient group of lesbian misfits. Things can only get better. Right?

tellofilms.com is proud to announce the release of the highly anticipated LGBT teen homelessness web series, THE THROWAWAYS. tello has a solid track record of providing entertaining and thought provoking original web series. tello fans and subscribers fell in love with I Hate Tommy Finch earlier this year and are chomping at the bit for the 2nd season of Cowgirl Up!.

THE THROWAWAYS premieres on Thursday, August 23th, 2012, exclusively on tellofilms.com . Prior to and concurrent with the release of the series, beginning Thursday, August 16, 2012 on AfterEllen.com, audiences can see free supplemental shorts that put a microscope on the lives of the young women in THE THROWAWAYS.

What is THE THROWAWAYS?

Despite the recent repeal of DADT and President Obama's support of gay marriage, gay kids are still being bullied, harassed, and thrown out of their homes because of their sexuality. THE THROWAWAYS follows straight-A, straight-laced, and anything but straight Olivia in a post-"It Gets Better" world on her quest to find a safe place to be herself. In addition to showcasing the still tenuous nature of LGBT acceptance in the U.S., THE THROWAWAYS highlights the comedy and comfort to be found in new friends and allies.

THE THROWAWAYS showcases a cast of highly talented and fresh-faced Chicago actresses anchored by an appearance by tello favorite Bridget McManus. Produced by tellofilms.com . Story by Julie Keck, Jessica King, and Christin Mell. Written by Julie Keck & Jessica King. Directed by Jessica King.
