The entire New Orleans Mayor's Advisory Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues resigned last week, reports the Times-Picayune. Democratic Mayor Ray Nagin angered the panel when he endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Bobby Jindal. Jindal refused to meet with the gay group while the Democratic candidate, current Lt. Governor Kathleen Blanco, met with the group two weeks after the run-off election. USA Today reports that Jindal opposes abortion, gay marriage, and gun control.
