Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital opened doors Aug. 22 on its first outpatient clinic dedicated exclusively to medical care for adolescents and young adults.
The Potocsnak Family Adolescent Medicine Outpatient Clinic, at the Lurie Children's Outpatient Center in Chicago's Lincoln Park, tends to the needs of patients 10-24.
The clinic recognized the Potocsnak family's $2.5-million gift supporting the vision for the Division of Adolescent Medicine. The division also includes a particular focus on at-risk youth and engagement with community partners such as Chicago House and Heartland Alliance.
The family is also donating a fiberglass cow that was part of the 1999 Cow on Parade public-art project. The cow will be outside the division's facility at 4711 N. Broadway in Uptown.
