The confidential files and records of gay teen Larry King have been turned over to an attorney representing the 14-year-old boy accused of murdering him. A California judge is allowing King's medical, psychological and school records to be passed over to Brandon McInerney's defense team so that they can prepare his legal defense. The teen is currently being tried as an adult, and has been charged with first-degree murder and a hate crime. McInerney is accused of shooting and killing King in February after the openly gay teen asked him to be his Valentine. He has pleaded not guilty.

U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, recently passed away. She suffered from an aneurysm while driving her car on Tuesday, Aug. 19. Tubbs Jones was the first African American woman to represent Ohio. She was a co-sponsor of a fully inclusive ENDA and supported repealing the military's 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy. PFLAG executive director Jody Huckaby released a statement mourning the passing of Tubbs Jones, calling her 'an ardent advocate for the dignity of every American,' and 'one of the biggest hearts of the heartland.'
