Financial expert and out lesbian Suze Orman is urging Florida voters to vote against the marriage amendment. In November, Florida voters will decide on Amendment 2, also known as the Marriage Protection Amendment, which seeks to define marriage as between one man and one woman. If passed, Amendment 2 would also outlaw any other legal recognition of relationships, such as domestic partnerships and civil unions. Orman, who hosts her own financial advice show on CNBC, said, 'My life's work has been to help people, particularly women, take responsibility for their own financial security. This amendment will undermine the ability of people in Florida to protect themselves.' |
