Milwaukee Pride is proud to elevate transgender voices and visibility through our collaboration with key individuals, local organizations, national thought leaders and our greater LGBTQ community.
At the October 25 Rally for Resistance, we united against legalized transgender discrimination and erasure by bringing hundreds to City Hall to speak our truths. Three days later, we came together again at the Milwaukee Rally for Trans Liberation at O'Donnell Park, organized by ZAO MKE Church and Forge. We are committed to continuing the velocity and momentum of this forward movement.

Stonewall Stage Talk: Transgender Health Wins Wisconsin

When the State of Wisconsin refused to cover their healthcare costs, two state employees took their fight to the courts. With the support of the ACLU, they won a historic legal victory for transgender health in Wisconsin. Meet the plaintiffs and attorney who won this landmark case — and what it means for transgender health going forward — at our community Q&A. Presented in partnership with the ACLU of Wisconsin.

Stonewall Stage Talk: Conversations with Monica Roberts

It's not every day that you can ask questions of an award-winning blogger, trans activist, and trans woman of color who has been on the front lines of trans activism and researching trans history for more than two decades. Join us Saturday, Nov. 17 as we welcome Monica Roberts, aka the TransGriot, for a community conversation! Presented in partnership with FORGE.

Transgender Day of Remembrance
UWM LGBTQ Resource Center ( 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd, Union WG-89 )
This year, at least 22 transgender people have been murdered simply for being who they were. The Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost to anti-transgender violence. Please join FORGE and our supporting partners in an evening of remembering, honoring, connecting and healing. Presented in partnership with FORGE and 15 united community organizations.
All events are free, open to the public, all ages and family-friendly.
These are excellent opportunities for cisgender allies to join the conversation, connect with trans community leaders, and understand the unique challenges faced by transgender citizens in today's America. If you have never met a transgender person, now is the time!
Can't attend the events? Considering making a monetary donation to Trans Lifeline, a crisis hotline designed and staffed by trans people for trans people. Since 2014, Milwaukee Pride has been making a monthly donation to support their critical work in the United States and Canada. In recent weeks, Trans Lifeline has seen emergency calls quadruple — so your dollars are needed now more than ever.
