State Rep. Deborah Mell, D-Chicago, has announced that she will create nine community advisory panels to allow members of the community to voice their concerns on issues relevant to the district. Findings will help determine the direction of her community outreach.
The panels—open to all residents of the 40th District—will convene April 10, 17 and 24 at Mell's new office, 3657 N. Kedzie. The schedule of the panels is as follows:
—Friday, April 10, 6 p.m.: Education
—Friday, April 10, 7 p.m.: Human rights
—Friday, April 10, 8 p.m.: Public health
—Friday, April 17, 6 p.m.: Economic development
—Friday, April 17, 6 p.m.: Transportation
—Friday, April 17, 6 p.m.: Good government
—Friday, April 24, 6 p.m.: Seniors
—Friday, April 24, 6 p.m.: Housing
—Friday, April 24, 6 p.m.: Crime and safety
