GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics announced its Dorian Award nominations for the best in movies, ranging from mainstream to LGBTQ.

Jane Campion's period drama The Power of the Dog leads the pack with nine nods, including for best film, LGBTQ film, director and acting. Coming in with five nominations each are the 1920s-set racial drama Passing, the LGBTQ animated refugee documentary Flee and Steven Spielberg's reimagining of West Side Story.

"Dog" and "Story" will contend for Best Film along with three films that received four Dorian nominations each—the bittersweet Japanese relationship drama Drive My Car; Norway's romantic comedy The Worst Person in the World; and Tick, Tick. . .Boom!, the musical about the short life of Rent creator Jonathan Larson.
