INSTRUCTOR HIT BY CAR
A gay gymnastics instructor was hit by a car in late April and is in fair condition at Illinois Masonic Hospital. Hospital officials and police had no details about the incident and whether it was an anti-gay attack, as had been rumored in the gay community last week.
The man, contacted through Illinois Masonic Hospital, did not wish to speak with the media.
McKeon seeks
deputy registrars
Openly gay State Rep. Larry McKeon (D-34th) is looking for Deputy Voter Registrars to help register voters between now and next spring's primary election.
Registrars must be registered voters and must attend a one-hour Board of Election Commissioners training session. McKeon is cosponsoring a training on Saturday, May 12, at the Welles Park Fieldhouse, Western and Sunnyside, at 10 a.m.
