Salonathon's fifth anniv. July 18

Salonathon—described as "a home for underground, emerging and genre-defying art"—will mark its fifth anniversary Monday, July 18, at Beauty Bar Chicago, 1444 W. Chicago Ave.

Since 2011, Salonathon has hosted thousands of performances and artists, and has nurtured the development of dozens of new projects and collaborations.

Jane Beachy conceived and founded Salonathon, and now co-curates the series with Bindu Poroori, Joe Varisco and Will Von Vogt.

CWHC's 'Revolutionary' fundraiser July 18

Chicago Women's Health Center ( CWHC ) is celebrating its fourth annual Revolutionary Health Care fundraiser on Monday, July 18, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Revolution Brewing Brewpub, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave.

This year's annual fundraising event features music from DJ Black Gold and raffle prizes from local favorites such as Ravinia, The Second City, Lillstreet Art Center, The Logan Theater and more. Tickets are available on a sliding scale of $45—$65, and include unlimited beer and appetizers.

Pride Action Tank fundraiser July 23

The Pride Action Tank ( PAT ) will host a special fundraiser Saturday, July 23, 5-8 p.m., at The North End, 3733 N. Halsted St.

The event will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gay Games VII, which was held in Chicago July 15-22, 2006. Gay Games VII attracted nearly 12,000 athletes from 70 countries, with the opening ceremony at Soldier Field and closing ceremony at Wrigley Field.

At the fundraiser, a percentage of the sales of MillerCoors products will benefit Pride Action Tank and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Also, attendees can purchase raffle tickets during the event to win backstage passes to Northalsted Market Days, Gay Games VII memorabilia, a guided tour of Chicago's Legacy Walk for up to 10 people, bar swag and much more. Raffle tickets are two for $5, or six for $10.

The fundraiser's sponsors include PAT, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Windy City Times, The North End, The Legacy Project, Northalsted Business Alliance and Team to End AIDS; MillerCoors is an event partner.

Sam Kirk exhibit July 21 at IPaintMyMind

"Double-Dutch: An Exhibition by Sam Kirk" will open Thursday, July 21, 7-10 p.m., at IPaintMyMind Gallery, 2545 W. Diversey Pkwy.

In the exhibition, Kirk shares her experience bouncing between Chicago and Brooklyn for the past two years. The showing will last through Tuesday, Aug. 30.

'TLC Block Party' in Chicago July 16

The TLC Block Party will take place at Stadium Green at Soldier Field on Saturday, July 16, 12-5 p.m.

Trans teen Jazz Jennings (along with her parents) is slated to attend, along with such individuals as Randy Fenoli of Say Yes to the Dress and Long Island Medium's Theresa Caputo.

'HRC Family Day at the Beach' July 16

"HRC Family Day at the Beach" will take place Saturday, July 16, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., at Foster Avenue Beach, 5200 N. Lake Shore Dr.

Attendees will meet families of all ages and other supporters. There will be food, fun, games and an opportunity to learn about Human Rights Campaign's efforts to improve the lives of families in Illinois and across the country.
