HBHC Gala Nov. 1
Howard Brown Health Center will honor this year's 'Friend for Life' recipients at 'Vegas Vanities,' an annual dinner celebration, Sat., Nov. 1. As part of an evening featuring dinner, dancing, and Vegas-style entertainment, state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, long-time volunteer Bill Drewry, stylist Patrick Russo, HBO's Cheryl Proctor-Rogers, and U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin will each be recognized for making a significant contribution to improving health in the LGBT community.
Vegas Vanities will take place in the Grand Ballroom at the Chicago Hilton and Towers, 720 S. Michigan, beginning at 6 p.m.
LCCP Calls for COAC Volunteers
The Lesbian Community Cancer Project is putting together the Committee for their 13th Coming Out Against Cancer Ball Feb. 7, 2004 at the South Shore Cultural Center.
The Committee meets monthly with additional sub-committee meetings as well.

Rainbow Families Parents' Night Out
Rainbow Families of Illinois (LGBT Parenting Group) hosts 'It's Our Turn: Parents' Night Out,' Sat., Nov. 22, 6-9 p.m., Rock-A-Tiki 1942 W. Division (just east of Damen).

AIDS Group Changes Name
AIDS Ministry of Illinois, which has worked for 13 years to help people impacted by HIV/AIDS in Will, Grundy, Kankakee and southern Cook counties, is changing its name and expanding its mission.
The new name will be Agape Missions Inc. 'Agape' is the Greek word for unconditional love.
Expansion includes adding a bilingual counseling/coaching office in Joliet.
The agency's 10th annual Gala and Silent Auction will celebrate the work of Sr. Rosalie Noder, OSF, considered a founder of the agency. She retired earlier this year. The benefit is Sat., Nov. 1, VFW Cantigny Post 367, 826 Horseshoe drive, Joliet, 6 p.m.
