The second part of the OUT at CHS series, entitled 'When the Magnificent Mile was Called Fairytown and Bronzeville was Lavender,' will be held at the Chicago Historical Society, North and Clark, April 21 at 5:30; $10 and $5 for students and CHS members. Controversial Northwestern University professor Michael Bailey, who resigned as chairman of the school's psychology department because of research-related misconduct in an experiment involving transsexuals, will defend ( along with colleague Aaron Greenberg ) an article on homosexual eugenics at Swift Hall 107 on the Evanston campus April 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Affinity and Lambda Legal Outreach Director, Beverly Tillery, will host a forum about marriage equality May 19 at Affinity Community Services, 5650 S. Woodlawn, 7-9 p.m. Call Lambda Legal at ( 312 ) 663-4413 or Affinity at ( 773 ) 324-0377.

International Mr. Leather 2005 will include several events this year, with most taking place at the home base of the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker. This year's International Mr. Leather competition will take place in the Grand Ballroom at Chicago's Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand, May 29, at 5 p.m. IML will also host a Closing Ceremonies celebration at the host hotel at 11 p.m. Other events include the 13th Annual International Mr. Bootblack Competition, which will be held May 27-29; The Leather Market, which will take place May 27-30; the Opening Ceremonies gala May 26 at 9 p.m.; the Pecs & Personality physique competition May 28 at 9 p.m.; and the Black and Blue Ball May 30 from 8 p.m.-4 a.m. All of these events will occur at the Hyatt Regency with the exception of the Black and Blue Ball, which will happen at Excalibur, 632 N. Two big dance-related events are coming up. Dance Divas will be held June 10 at The Fairmont Chicago, 200 N. Columbus, at 8 p.m. See www.aidschicago.org or call ( 312 ) 922-2322. Toni Morrison, the first Black woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, will deliver the 2005 Leon Forrest Lecture May 2, at Northwestern University's Ryan Family Auditorium of the Technological Institute, 2145 Sheridan Road, Evanston, at 4:30 p.m. Although free and open to the public, tickets will be required. Bishop Spong, a longtime voice of progressive Christianity, will appear May 5 at Borders, 1500 16th St., Oak Brook, at 7:30 p.m. Among the ideas he tackles in his newest book are that St. Paul was a closeted gay man and that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married.

The Illinois Humanities Council, the Public Square at the IHC, the Harold Washington Library Center, and Lambda Legal will present 'Our Echoing Demands: The Legacies of Brown v. Board Today,' May 14 at the Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State, 2:00-3:30 p.m. The event is free but reservations are required. Call ( 312 ) 422-5580 or e-mail ihc@prairie.org .

The Chicago Task Force on LGBT Substance Use and Abuse has scheduled two interactive community forums, both at 7 p.m., April 26 at Ann Sather, 929 W. Belmont and April 28 at Affinity, 5650 S. Woodlawn. Call Charles Braxton at ( 312 ) 745-1212.
