Lise Weil will be reading from and discussing her new memoir, In Search of Pure Lust, on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m. at Barbara's Bookstore, 111 N. State St.
In Search of Pure Lust is a chronicle of Weil's immersion in the lesbian feminism of the 1970s and '80s. Weil also takes the reader through a series of torrid relationships that tend to mirror the tumultuous political currents of the timesuntil a dive into Zen practice begins to turn things around for her.
Weil is an award-winning editor and translator. Born and raised in Chicago, she moved to Montreal in 1990.
