The exhibit "Laura Aguilar: Show and Tell" will be shown at the National Museum of Mexican Art ( NMMA ), 1852 W. 19th St., March 22-Aug. 18.
Sybil Venegas is the curator.
There will be more than 130 photographs by Aguilar ( 1959-2018 ), an Mexican-American artist. "Laura Aguilar: Show and Tell" is the first comprehensive retrospective of hers as it assembles the largest collection of her work, spanning three decades.
In photographs that are frequently political as well as personal, Aguilar offers candid portrayals of herself, her friends and family, and her Chicana/Latina and LGBT communities.
