The first Orgullo en Accion Latina/o LGBTQQ Pride Picnic took place July 8 at Gill Park, 825 W. Sheridan. In addition to fantastic food, there were events such as dancing, face painting and performances from individuals like drag kings Andres de los Santos ( a.k.a. Aurora Pineda ) and Papi Chulo ( a.k.a. Xiomara Santiago ) . The picnic was originally scheduled for June 10, but that one was rained out. However, the weather cooperated this past Saturday to make the picnic a successful affair.
