NYC Pridethe official host of WorldPride 2019 | Stonewall 50announced the three keynote speakers scheduled to lead a dialogue during the Human Rights Conference on June 24-25 ( and who all happen to be transgender ): Out Executive Editor Raquel Willis, writer/activist/director Janet Mock and model Tracey "Africa" Norman.
The conference gathers activists, public figures, policymakers, students and more for a two-day, immersive session that explores LGBTQIA+ rights around the world. This year's conference is scheduled at a new location, the New York Law School, and will combine presentations and performances, politics and policies, and academics and activism.
Also, NYC Pride announced that Madonna will make an appearance, and is expected to perform a few songs, at Pride Island on Sunday, June 30, The Washington Blade reported. Madonna announced the news through a video aired during the June 3 broadcast of NBC's The Today Show.
In addition, the organization announced its multi-day lineup of cinema and in-depth conversations for the 2019 edition of OutCinema on June 17-19.
Opening night features the New York Premiere of Adam, which has an ensemble including Nicholas Alexander, Margaret Qualley, Chloe Levine, and MJ Rodriguez ( TV's Pose ). Wiga documentary about the historic festival Wigstockwill run on closing night. The documentary features Lady Bunny, Charlene Incarnate, Neil Patrick Harris, Naomi Smalls, and Willam, among others.
As for the The 2019 Pride March that will take place June 30, it will step off at noon ET from 26th Street and 5th Avenue. Some 150,000 marchers will take part in a parade that will pass the New York City AIDS Memorial and, of course, The Stonewall Inn.
