Lakeview arts festival takes on special meaning

The 2011 Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, which the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce produces, took place Sept. 10-11 along Broadway Avenue from Belmont Avenue to Roscoe Street.
The event showcased more than 150 juried artists featuring world-class original paintings, sculpture, photography, furniture, jewelry and more. Among the musical acts slated to perform are Gitarra Azul, Scientific Map and Tom Schraeder and His Ego.
This year, the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts included a Sunday tribute beginning at 10:30 a.m. commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Photos by Steve Starr
